Surrounded by the opulent interiors of Carlton House terrace Ong-Oaj Pairam presented his AW16 collection. Inspired by ‘Havisham’ the collection is a mixture of luxe materials with emphasis on feminine designs, hand embroidery and soft tailoring. Divided between two rooms models wore stripped back makeup and softly plaited hair creating an ethereal mood.
Delicate raw edged shirts worn under dresses, black netting over silk gowns and crushed velvet, finished off with floral and gold detailing encompassed the splendour and glamour of the collection. A colour palette of forest green, lilac and black create a dark romanticism, inspired by the beauty of nature.
A feminine fishtail silhouette created by a mauve asymmetrical draped neck evening gown elegantly moved down the catwalk.
Exceptional craftsmanship went into the embroidery with over 6000 hand cut leather flowers and each petal individually embossed appliquéd onto this dress.
The collection included separates combining soft tailoring and delicate draping with the embroidered cropped military jacket and silk jersey draped skirt.
The show ended with a strapless gown of graduated ombre tulle layers.
