Pattern Cutter

We are currently looking to recruit a freelance pattern cutter for our luxury womenswear clothing collection. Our Semple Collection has been produced for professional women who are drawn towards elegant style. Cut from a range of Italian fabrics, our collection is created at our London atelier, located in the heart of Covent Garden.The Semple bespoke experience allows you to interact with our clients on a personal level and therefore requires good communication skills within our atelier.

Applicants must have their own sewing materials and be able to work fast and efficiently to meet tight deadlines from home. We are in need of someone with great technical skills and experience in creating bespoke patterns for our dresses and jackets. Some on the job training will be provided at our atelier however we will expect you to be able to complete a dress and have a good level of machine skills from the outset. It is imperative that all garments are produced to a very high standard. You will be provided with a sketch and measurements sheet to work from in your pack and are expected to create a pattern for this, with the option of hand sewing the garment ready for a first fitting.

Skills / Experience:

• Strong technical ability to create patterns for a range of garments from a tailored blazer to a sweetheart evening gown
• Must own an industrial/ high spec domestic sewing machine and an overlocker
• Knowledgeable and confident in all aspects of pattern making and cutting
• Be able to hand sew garments ready for fittings
• Understanding of all materials and fabrics – especially wool, cotton, crepe and silk
• Must be able to speak and understand English well
• Must be able to commute to our atelier in Covent Garden and work in-house
