Born into an artistic family in London and raised in New York, the designer has a peculiar style strongly influenced by her origins. For the show, a few looks were presented on a loop, repeating the set up on and on like the models were trapped in time. A cropped top, panama hat and a school look with a back satchel added personality to a collection that had tones of black on velvet, transparencies and leather. A white blouse and floral prints in red and pink added a bit of colour in the middle of the darkness. A strap dress in navy and klein combining velvet with transparent lines captured our attention the most.
Designed for a creative, smart, a little bit spooky and hopeless romantic woman, Ronson’s collection is full of statement pieces that reinforce her unique personality on night dresses and daily looks. The looks reprised her signature scalloped details now accenting richly tailored separates boucle cropped sweaters, laser-cut dresses, A-line jackets and black on black leather rose embroidery complimented by elaborate lace ruffles sheer chiffon and mesh inserts.
With a flagship boutique in New Yorks hip Nolita, Charlotte Ronson designed a capsule collection for Urban Outfitters in 2008. For those of you who like the look, the brand offers free international express delivery, check it out, it is definitely worth owning a piece.
