As cliché as this blog post may be I’m a sucker for romance, and writing about romantic date ideas for Valentine’s day is a blogging dream for me. But, no matter how many of these 25 ideas for Valentine’s Day posts I read online, I never seem to come across anything that gives couples ideas for cosy dates at home. So, for those out there who are struggling for something to do on Valentine’s Day, look out for a few of my suggestions whether they be creative home dates or fancy outings.
Spa Heaven
You’re going to see this one a lot, no doubt. But what is honestly better than a spa? Sitting around a swimming pool with your cosies on but not actually having to do lengths in the pool? Treat your partner to a spa day where you can bond together through afternoon teas and joint facial massages, or even book an overnight stay.
Cocktails at Home
Put some music on in the kitchen and get your creative heads on by making your own cocktails or mocktails – whatever strikes your fancy. Get tipsy together and enjoy a night in front of the TV!
Romantic Getaway
Take yourselves away and enjoy a short weekend break together. The Cotswolds is the perfect place to go if you want to cosy up in a cute little cottage, and visit Cotswolds’ Wildlife Park while you’re there. This way you’re combining fun and romance all together.
Recreate the Restaurant
Bring the restaurant to your dining room by setting up the perfect table and cooking your other half’s favourite meal in the comfort of your own home. Make the scene even more romantic by dressing up for the occasion if you like, and agree to take turns in one of you cooking the meal, the other making dessert.
Watch the Sunrise
You’ll have to get up a little early for this one, but if you wrap up warm together you’ll be in for a gorgeous treat. A sunrise in the winter is truly spectacular. Go and visit a local field where you can sit together with thermal mugs of tea and watch the sunrise. You can always crawl back in to bed together afterwards.
Bake Together
Although you may cringe as you read this, I’m quite a believer in bonding through creating things with your partner. Bake together, no matter how wonderful or hideous it may turn out, it’s all a laugh and you can have it for pudding. How’s that sound?
Night at the Ritz
It may be a little on the expensive side, but the Ritz in London is a real gorgeous restaurant well worth the money if the pair of you want to go out in style and feel like movie stars for the night. Get dressed up and look forward to a night full of some of the finest champagne and specials.
