So, there we have it. Fashion Week is almost over for another season, with the last few shows currently taking place in Paris. Designers from the fashion capitals of the world have showcased their SS17 collections from Tommy Hilfiger in New York to Chanel in Paris, Erdem in London and Dolce & Gabbana in Milan.

However, it is the fashion inspiration surrounding these famous capitals and the individuals walking the streets to various shows and exhibitions which always catch my eye. The catwalk collections are beautiful and wonderfully unique yes, but for many, the hefty price tag is sadly not a luxury to be afforded every season. Perhaps that’s why street style has become so popular and the new focus of inspiration in recent years. International newspapers and magazines now designate double page spreads highlighting “the best street style looks from LFW” and “looks you should copy now”. Street style presents an affordable and more accessible alternative to stylish dressing; showing us what the ‘average’ girl or guy is wearing now.

Scrolling through the many street style boards from Paris, Milan, London and New York, I’ve picked just a few of my favourite looks from these beautiful cities during Fashion Week, to help inspire you for the autumnal season ahead.

New York

There is something so classic and cosmopolitan about the street style of New York. An array of different textures and clashing of prints worked well with dainty jewellery and blush pink accessories. It’s not unorthodox or gaudy, it’s feminine and a great example that less is more.

London

Much like New York, Londoners kept it creative but simple during Fashion Week. Neutral colours, masculine dressing and bold prints were in abundance and despite the unseasonably warm weather, layering and autumn tones were in full flow.

Milan

From ditsy florals to exaggerated frills, bold colours and accessorising with corsets and oversized bows – Milan is certainly one of the most exuberant cities when it comes to fashion. It carries a cool nonchalance and distinctive style and is certainly bursting full of inspiration for the season ahead.

Paris

I always look forward to seeing what show-goers on the streets of Paris are wearing during Fashion Week. There is something so wonderfully romantic about the sartorial choices and this season certainly did not disappoint. From sheer fabrics and intricate embroidery to traditional checks and ruffled blouses, each and every texture and tone made a welcoming appearance.
