One of the coolest cultural destinations in London is, without a shadow of a doubt, The Design Museum. Home of contemporary architecture, design and fashion, it always surprises us with tasty exhibitions that make our day. This month, “Hello, My Name Is Paul Smith” is already on our list of must sees.Paul_Smith

Opening on the 15th November, the exhibition will draw on Paul Smith’s personal archive, from the company beginnings in Nottingham to its international prominence today. Personally, when I think of this designer, colourful lines invade my mind, just as if his brand essence was decoded this way. In fact, his unique identity resounds worldwide, bringing his peculiar British design to the most chic front rows of London and Paris fashion weeks. The exhibition will showcase and celebrate the brand through collections personally selected by Smith, as well as exploring the different stages of the design process, while highlighting how the principles of traditional craftsmanship of tailoring and techniques are retained, but given a contemporary edge. Among other attractions, it will include a recreation of Smiths personal office and his first shop in Byard Lane Nottingham, which measured 3m x 3m. Projections, audio and film clips from fashion shows and behind the scenes will help build a unique atmosphere that promises to be a great experience.
