christmas

Christmas is a truly momentous time of year for many of us, filled with joy and happiness. Christmas for me is a nostalgic time of year linked with many happy memories of joyous times spent with family and friends. So, here are just some of the reasons why I for one and certainly looking forward to the festive season…

Family and Friends

We can often get so swept away with the chaos of our own lives that we forget to spend valued time with our loved ones. Christmas offers wonderful quality time to indulge in activities that often get overlooked such as eating dinner around the table and playing board games by the fire.

Food, Food and More Food

Now we could all sit here and pretend that Christmas doesn’t revolve around food but lets face it we’d all be lying! The festive season welcomes the traditional unhealthy ‘seasonal goods’, including Terry’s Chocolate Orange, delicious biscuit trays, mince pies and selection boxes. After all, Christmas is all about good food and good company.

Giving

Aside from all of the selfish reasons to love Christmas, there really is nothing better than the feeling of gifting a loved one with something you know they’ll adore. Carefully picking out the ideal present and seeing the smile on the recipients face provides that feeling of incomparable satisfaction and reminds us of how important our loved ones are to us.

Warm Attire

If you are like me, then dressing for winter is always a pleasure. From camel trench coats and faux fur lined parkas to Chelsea boots and thick aran knits, the festive season allows you to be comfortable and cosy all winter long!

Beautiful Lights

Covent Garden comes alive at Christmas, adorned by beautiful lights sparkling in the midnight, festive stalls and joyful live music on the cobbled streets. Not only this, but Kew Gardens are holding a mesmerisingly botanical Christmas Wonderland this year, with brightly coloured laser beams dancing over water, a scented Fire Garden, the North Pole village and a traditional festive fare.
