LFW AW16

Barely certain on what you’re wearing today, let alone tomorrow or in the months to come? Luckily for us there are these magically talented humans who we refer to as ‘fashion designers’ that shape and influence our everyday look. They have this unique vision and wonderfully craft it into pieces that make their way into our wardrobes.

London Fashion Week was just as fabulous as it’s always been and to give you more of an insight into the who, what, where and when, here we look a little closer into three unique shows.

J.JS Lee

J.JS Lee, born in Seoul, inspires and empowers the modern day woman. With bold colour, flattering waist lines and an elegance flows throughout, the models don a powerful classy working woman look that’s bound to set the undertone for our autumn/winter wardrobes. Trouser and skirt suits were dominant throughout the show, with fringed collars and a loose fit for the contemporary woman at work.

Beautiful fabrics and tweed coats were another highlight in the collection. Covered in bright prints, the pieces stood out as some of the most colourful of the show.

Bora Aksu

Pretty pieces meet dark places. Bora Aksu, a London based Turkish Fashion designer, wowed his audience with incredible detail and edgy visions. A hauntingly seductive show laced with a gothic style, the Bora Aksu collection showcased fur coats, high necklines and crochet skirts.

A subtle pink poured into many of the outfits, but not without the gothic touches that impose so beautifully on the overall look. Bora Aksu done well to create a captivating appearance with wonderful crochet and silk detail that would, with no doubt, entice any onlooker.

Fyodor Golan

Fantastically bright and energetically colourful, Fyodor Golan is the brainchild of two designers that combine their influences and creativity to explore the art of womenswear. And their AW16 collection was a refreshing dose of playful fun on the catwalk of this year’s London Fashion Week.

There was absolutely nothing simple about the designs or their choice of colours. From splashes of neon, to eccentric cuts and busy prints, the entire collection boasted an exciting and vibrant performance.

The collection is infused with a rebellion mesh between a clashing of culture, with unsubtle sights of Coco-Cola and iconic images imbedded on the pieces. Neon colours along with mixed textures and materials invited us once more to delve into the vision of two fascinating designers whose inspirations spoke loudly throughout their collection.
