The Ab Fab film has been long in the making. From fans across the globe begging Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley to write, and star in a feature length film for their final hurrah, to the lengthy filming schedule due to their star studded cast. It’s been a labour of love for these comedy legends whose beloved characters were born from a sketch by Dawn French and Saunders herself all those years ago.
But yesterday their awaiting fans rejoiced as the first film trailer was unleashed on the web; 55 seconds of pure Ab Fab goodness. Without either character saying a word, no hint of the supporting cast and missing any context of the film’s plot line, it’s nothing short of genius.
Celebrity royalty are tipped to make cameo appearances throughout the film from Cara Delevigne, Harry Styles, Kim Kardashian and Rylan Clark to previous series regulars Lulu, Emma Bunton and Kate Moss also making time in their busy schedules for this celebration of UK comedy gold.
With a July release date we’ve got a while to wait, but it’s nothing us die-hard fans can’t handle. Until then we’ll have to remind ourselves of our favourite moments from Patsy and Eddie that were all too relevant – keep calm, sweetie darlings.
