Amanda Wakeley

Amanda Wakeley kicked off her AW16 offering with an elemental theme and colouring blocking. Loose tied hair added to the simplicity of the pieces, portraying innocence and purity. Exaggerated silhouettes create an elegant feel, with a mixture of straight and A-line cuts. The use of sheer fabrics created a beautiful drape which complimented what seemed to be a heavy drill cotton. Necklines were interchangeable offering interest and impact to the overall style of the dresses. Fur sleeves also added an extra element of modern day fashion.

Mother of Pearl

Next up is the Mother of Pearl collection which incorporated a broad range of very individual style. A ‘street wise’ casual theme was juxtaposed with a vintage vibe, using block colours and very little pattern. The palette remained neutral using mostly greys, blacks and creams with an injection of cobalt blue and hot pink. Smokey eyes added to the edgy look represented throughout the collection. Oversized shapes gave off a casual feel, while cinched in waistlines added a feminine touch.

Roksanda

The retro theme at Roksanda which utilised rich, block colours, was a refreshing break from many a muted colour palette. Cinched waistlines added a feminine touch to draw in the oversized material and showcase feminine curves. A classic matte red lip and a slicked back centre parting added to the elegance of the collection. Sheer silk was used as a base material with added ruffles and pussy bows to enhance the prairie feel.

She also enjoys traveling (and soaking up the sun), having gone on four separate holidays last year!
