Warehouse is such a staple of British retail that it is hard to imagine a high street without it. Since opening their first store on London’s Duke Street, the high street giant has gone from strength to strength, established themselves as a global brand, and won themselves plenty of awards and accolades along the way. So what is it about Warehouse that we love quite so much?

When they opened their first store in 1976 their mission was clear to “design for the high street” and make fashion simple and accessible for everyone. Within three years the brand opened a store on London’s Argyll Street which remains its flagship store to date. Even as the company has grown they have kept true to their brand by providing simple, trend led fashion to women who want their clothes to fit around their lifestyle.

By keeping on top of the latest retail trends the brand ensures it remains on the radar; in 1985 they launched a BYMAIL catalogue which featured top models of the time, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Yasmin Le Bon, and in 2001 they launched their website which reaffirmed their ethos of fitting around the busy lives of their customers.

Warehouse has continued to grow, launching their first international store in Singapore in 1999 and now managing over 300 stores worldwide. The brand likes to give back too and have been supporting young British design talent alongside the British Fashion Council since 2009.

Over the years the brand has established themselves as a retailer that provides trend led fashion with a focus on the classics. Yes you will be able to pick up the latest catwalk looks but they will have been given Warehouse’s understated make-over which will make them wearable and classic enough to last more than one season. Like the brand itself their clothes will fit effortlessly around your life with smart tailoring for the office, cute cocktail dresses for the evening and a wide range of well-cut basics for your off duty time, as well as a wide range of must have accessories. Now in the present day, Warehouse have done it again by launching their own blog, Tales of the City, to support their customers through style dilemmas, work, life and just about everything else.
