The ritual of afternoon tea has now undergone a facelift to coincide with the changes of designer’s collections. Each season The Berkeley collaborates with the world’s hottest design talent to produce a selection of delicacies worthy of a fashion high tea. For SS12, the menu includes Gucci’s art deco Grand Marnier and dark Valrhona chocolate mousse, Fendi’s nautical stripe vanilla cake along with gourmet creations from the likes of Jason Wu, Christian Louboutin and others.
Pret-a-Portea, as it is called by those in the know, is served daily in the Caramel Room between 1pm-6pm with prices starting at just £39. Booking is recommended for this service due to it’s popularity but it will be well worth the wait. Champagne can also be added to the menu to make the experience extra special however, this creative twist on the traditional afternoon tea is sure to win the hearts of London’s style conscious.
