Converse have become one of the most established footwear brands of our time – from the punk rockers of the 70s to the hipsters of today, Converse have been the go to sneaker. Their retro canvas styles have barely evolved with the changing times and yet have remained extremely popular. The simple colour options teamed with the understated rubber sole can be seen the world over.

There’s something about the brand’s history and their timeless feel that I have always been drawn to and over the years I have bought countless pairs; low tops, high tops and double tongues have all adorned my collection. From classic red to cool white there’s a pair for everyone and they’ve never shied away from introducing vibrant patterns and seasonal colours, much to Converse fan approval.

Since the brand was founded in 1908 they’ve rarely strayed from the style we see today, but this year they’ve made a brave move and introduced the Chuck Taylor All Star II. With only a slight cosmetic change to the original style but holding a much more supportive and form fitting sneaker inside. Rumours of a new style were met with a scepticism that was quickly dispelled once the world were introduced to the new and improved Converse, one that still encompassed the same charm, thank the sneaker lords!

Even though my love for Converse knows no bounds, breaking a pair in had always been such hell – the basic make up of a pair of Converse doesn’t give way to the curves of your feet and can leave your heels feeling like they’re on fire! The Chuck Taylor All Star II’s are a little more forgiving, with the proper heel support and a softer material it no longer feels like a chore. With more comfort your adventures can take you further, say goodbye to heel rub and hello to a fashion favourite that won’t bite back. So if there’s one thing to add to your Christmas list this year, be sure to ask Santa for a pair of brand new Chucks you won’t regret it!
