Although we are currently keeping our fashion ears glued to the ground scoping out the trends for autumn/winter, now is the time that the High Street begins rolling out its spring/summer collections. Women all over the country remember their New Year’s resolution to lose weight or get fit and begin to panic about getting their ‘summer body’, whether it be to feel confident to wear a bikini on holiday or to wear the latest style of summer dress.Although I am on a bit of a diet myself (trying to lose my baby weight is not as easy as the celebrities make it look), I am a firm believer that looking great comes from within. If you are confident and happy with yourself they way you are, that does indeed come across to those who you may encounter. Just as an example, I’m sure most of us can think of a celebrity that is not what you would call ‘traditionally attractive’ but you know, even if you don’t, there are quite a few people who have a little crush on them.

Even if you aren’t confident enough to wear certain things, as long as you feel comfortable and happy in what you do wear, there is no reason why you can’t be as stylish as the perfect 10 girl wearing the latest trends. The key is finding things which suit you personally and perhaps adapting them according to trends, as you might wish. It doesn’t have to be a difficult, endless search either; there are a few simple rules that can help you to at least know what to avoid, such as not wearing horizontal stripes if you are concerned about looking wide, to put it bluntly. If you still struggle to find what looks good on your personal body shape, there are plenty of role models of all different shapes and sizes who always look fantastic wearing styles that they’ve found to suit them. From the slim Kate Moss and Taylor Swift, to the curvy Kelly Brook and Beyonce, to the voluptuous Adele, these ladies all know what suits their shape best and their confidence in what they are wearing makes them all look as gorgeous as each other.

This isn’t even a problem restricted to those who want to lose weight, there are lots of naturally very slim girls who are desperate to be able to put on a bit of weight in order to fill out some of the trends that rely on a curvy silhouette, like the Mad Men trend. So whilst you might aspire to look like someone else, they might aspire to look more like you; so accept what you have got, make the most of it and the confidence that you will soon find will make you look more attractive than if you had made yourself suffer to look different.
