“London’s where I was brought up. It’s where my heart is and where I get my inspiration.” – Alexander McQueen, January 2000
There aren’t many things that stop us in our tracks, maybe a really great shoe sale or LFW, but when we heard that The Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition would be crossing the pond Semple HQ was suitably shocked, excited, and all other manner of wonderful adjectives, at the sheer prospect!
Hosted by none other than the historic Victoria and Albert Museum the iconic costume exhibition will run from March 14 to July 19 2015. The exhibition, which is set to be the first and largest retrospective of McQueen’s work to be presented in Europe, will showcase the late designers legendary body of work – from his 1992 MA graduate show to his tragically unfinished autumn/winter 2010 collection.

Savage Beauty was originally displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2011. Organised by the Costume Institute, it became one of the museum’s top 10 most visited exhibitions.
“Savage Beauty is a celebration of the most imaginative and talented designer of our time. Lee was a genius and a true visionary who pushed the boundaries, challenged and inspired. He believed in creativity and innovation and his talent was limitless,” said Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen.
