advent

The countdown to Christmas is imminent with the 1st of December now lurking just around the corner. The shops are starting to fill to the brim with shoppers out for the perfect gift, our trees are going up (if not up already) and our diaries are chocka-block with dates for xmas tipples and work dinners. A mid all of the hustle and bustle it can be easy to let the festive season fly by in a flurry of stress and wine hangovers.

Getting excited in the lead up to Christmas is something we now see as reserved for children alone. They patiently wait, counting down each day in excited anticipation and they do it with a mini treat a day from their character themed advent calendars.

But no more do us adults have to miss out on the fun! What started as a niche, is now a given, as more and more brands launch their own adult friendly advent calendars come Christmas.

They originally started as beauty calendars; full of glosses and creams, and they carried a rather hefty price tag. But now everyone’s on the band wagon and one of the best ideas to come out of the new trend is the promise to feature our most favourite foods and drinks.

So, if you to want to get excited and treat yourself to a little something each day, here are our top foodie calendars for adults this year.

Featuring both sweet and savoury goodies, Carluccio’s advent indulges us with Italian treats such as truffle butter, chilli pesto and chocolate morsels. The limited edition calendar will set you back £75.00 but is well worth it for the ultimate foodie in your life.
