Wedding Gift Ideas

While couples tie the knot all year round, the summer season is undoubtedly the most popular time of year to get married. The months of June, July and August – and even September – see our diaries filled with engagement parties, hen-dos and the big days themselves.

Naturally the weather plays a bit part in this. While the Great British weather is known (not so fondly) for being somewhat unpredictable, we hope that during these months the probability of a little sunshine and warmer temperatures is marginally higher. Of course, even if you tie the knot in the middle of June, there’s still a chance the clouds will open and the rain will fall.

Amid the ceremonies and receptions, engagement presents and jetting off for hen-dos, the bank balance can start to look a little depleted. Some couples may attach a wish-list to their invitation, advising that if you wish to buy a present, these are a few things that they would like. On the one hand this is handy but on the other a source of worry – what if there are only pillowcases left when you log on to buy their present? Do you still buy them even though they are the least exciting item on the list? Before you kick yourself and wish you had been more organised and sorted it out sooner so you could buy them that beautiful tea set or Moroccan-inspired throw, also on the list, you could still treat them to something you think they’d love.

Of course, every couple is different. Today it’s more common for couples to live with each other before they decide to get married and so they have all the household appliances they could ever need; or perhaps they have asked for a donation towards their honeymoon across South America. Then there are those who don’t really ask for anything at all – what do you get them?

Whilst gift buying is very subjective and entirely dependent on who you are buying for, I thought I’d put together a little selection of gifts perfect for the happy couple.
