Although as I type this, it has been raining for seven solid hours, the British wedding season is now in full bountiful swing. Whether 2017 is your year of weddings – we’ll all experience those, together with the corresponding hen dos – or you’re only planning to attend one or two evening receptions, the high street and high end stores are showering us with wedding guest outfit ideas.
Gone are the days where these decisions were not only costly, but limited, often containing bright, unflattering florals and overbearing matching hats. Wedding season has become big business, especially with the added watchful eye of social media now so prominent. Guests want originality and flair, so choice and suitability is of paramount importance to avoid that dreaded situation of two girls and one dress!
Aside from the most obvious no-no of adorning yourself in white, there aren’t many other rules when it comes to wedding guest dressing. Despite the myth, you certainly don’t have to spend a lot of money on your outfit, particularly if you’re of the disposition of only wearing items once. Accessories are your best friend and they can also help to distinguish you from the other guests with similar sartorial taste.
