It might still be cold outside but fashion has already moved on. We know the thought of removing all those winter layers is scary but it’s time to look ahead to spring and find out what fashion has in store for us this coming season.
Bohemian Rhapsody
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the return of Sienna Miller to the media spotlight has reignited our love affair with bohemia. This time though the look is a little more thought out, a little more grown up but wistful none-the-less.
Free People Maxi Dress, £118
That Seventies Show
Nipping at the heels of boho is a love for all things Seventies; suede, flares and pretty blouses all made strong appearances at the Spring Summer shows and provide the antidote to the seemingly never-ending nineties revival.
Woven Flares by Band of Gypsies at Topshop, £35
Blooming Spring
Not exactly original but the Spring shows wouldn’t seem right without a few florals creeping in. This season they are strategically placed on sheer fabrics for a grown up, rather than ultra girlie, look.
Dolce & Gabbana Flora Brocade Sandals, £525
Sheerly There
Whether they were covered in florals or spilling over in frills, sheer fabrics were a key feature on the catwalks. The ladylike fabric was used on prom dresses and blouses and is perfect for the grown up mood of the season.
Self Portrait Lace and Mesh Mini Dress, £260
Denim Dreams
If you are a denim lover then this is the season for you! No longer confined to Jeans; denim was worked into shirts, dresses and the denim skirt was even seen making a comeback.
Wide Jeans H&M, £39.99
Play with your shapes
After what seems like years of skinny jeans and a streamline silhouette, fashion has raised the stakes by playing with the shapes. Swap your skinnies for flares and your crop tops for longline tunics or go for volume and then nip in at the waist; this season is all about playing with your profiles.
Asos Leather Pencil Skirt, £80
Fun with Moschino
Fashion is feeling grown up this season and just when we thought it was all getting a bit too serious Moschino comes along to remind us to have fun with fashion. Inspired by Barbie, Moschino’s collection was bright and brilliant pink. A head to toe look might not be for everyone but it does remind us not to take fashion too seriously.

If you want to look truly in the fashion know you can start to work these trends now with a seventies flare here or a sheer blouse there, but maybe leave the Barbie pink until the sun starts to shine.
