If you find it hard to resist the lure of a precious stone then you’ll want to know more about Nina Naustdal. Jewellery has been the inspiration behind works of art, film and literature throughout history, so we suppose it was only a matter of time before someone based their whole design aesthetic on it.

With jewel coloured tones, dramatic silhouettes and, of course, a bit of sparkle, it is easy to recognise the inspiration behind the designs. Nina captured the dazzling yet unique beauty you find in precious stones and translated this in to her designs for her AW12 collection, Gold. The rich, opulent jewel coloured fabrics are embellished with lace, crystals and bows to create stunning cocktail dresses and give the all-important stamp of luxury. Her Gold collection may be ready to wear but it is certainly not for dressing down.

Despite debuting her first clothing collections in 2011, Nina now has a wide-ranging portfolio that includes furs and leathers, bridal, jewellery and shoes. The key ingredient to every aspect of her vast catalogue is luxury; her furs and leathers use exclusive skins such as python, crocodile, sable and each of her shoes are finished off with a trademark Nina Naustdal bow. Finally the jewellery, which inspires her ready to wear collections, is made with only the highest grade diamonds.

We all know it is hard to ignore the lure of something precious and, most importantly, sparkly, so don’t even try to deny yourself; after all who needs a guy to put a ring on it when you can dress yourself head to toe in gold?
