Meet Tamara Kalinic – Glam and Glitter

What do you do when your not blogging?

When I’m not travelling, I’m trying to educate myself on different things related to my job, like photography, or just how to bring the most interesting content to my readers. When at home I try to spend as much time as possible with my nephew, assisting my sister whenever he’s crying; favourite activity of the moment.

What interests you?

I of course am extremely interested in fashion and beauty, but also love reading books, magazines and just checking out what’s happening in the industry.

What is your motivation everyday?

I have big ambitions, so for me just thinking of my dream is a huge motivation. Like everyone else, I also have days when I feel that there is just no motivation, but I focus on what I want and the energy comes back to me.

Do you have a treasured garment?

Not really. I give a lot of my clothes away, which means that once I am done with a piece I always find it a better home. I believe in being attached to people not things.

What is your best style advice?

Always be your self and wear clothes you feel best in. Confidence will show and clothes will shine on you.

Who is your style inspiration?

My mother. I love how classy she is at any occasion, but one person who’s opinion I always take into account is my sister. I think it’s important to have people you trust around you. I am also influenced by trends, and fashion icons, but none particular that I could name. I love wearing stuff I feel good in and that’s my rule number one.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?

I hope to have established my brand – Glam and Glitter how I want to and to still enjoy in everything I do, just like today.

What is your biggest highlight in your career to date?

Working with brands I always admired so much and of course attending international fashion weeks such as London, Milan, Paris, New York, Amsterdam and Fashion Forward in Dubai. I love being part of it, and doing what I am so passionate about.

Which trends will make a return next season?

There is a lot of innovation to it, but I feel like it’s time for 70s to come back.

What would you like to be remembered for?

For trying to bring friendliness and a positive attitude to the fashion industry. I am strictly against snobbiness or anything related to stereotypical views on anyone who works in fashion. We don’t save lives, but it’s an important industry and I think it would be even better perceived with a high dose of positive attitude.
