It’s that time of the year when the weather tricks us into believing we can strut out the house with our light denim jackets on and bare pins out. But oh, how wrong us Brits can be. With Coachella jamming up our news feeds and the likes of Vanessa Hudgens making us wish we were LA born, the temptation to be bold and believe summer has arrived is too much. But there is one trend populating that gives us that festival feel without turning blue and quivering in our boots.

Body painting is an ancient practice that stems from tribalist cultures. Often worn during ceremonies, it still survives in this ancient form among the indigenous people of Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific islands, parts of Africa, India and Japan. Used as both a form of art and celebration, body painting has lasted through the years, with hennas and bindis becoming huge beauty trends for the frequent festival goer bohemian dresser.

This very trend led me to discover Flash Tattoos, an incredible new brand with ‘innovative jewelry inspired temporary tattoos for serious (and not so serious) fashionistas’. Unlike most temporary tattoos that come with an unfortunate chavy association, Flash Tattoos are everything but, and are guaranteed to make your inner hippie very happy.

Each unique Flash Tattoo collection comes in various metallic designs, so you can create your very own look. Lasting a good 4-6 days, they will see you through your summer of pool parties, gigs and festivals, and look amazing on your golden glow.

As soon as I came across Flash Tattoos I fell in love, and have bought enough to decorate a small army. I’m sure you will fall for them too, so stock up and get excited for Glastonbury, even if you are still having to wear a long sleeve t-shirt.
