At some time last week, I was on the train reading OK! magazine when I came across a quote that grabbed my attention. Pictured were four girls wearing fabulous clothing with the caption “Change your clothes, change your life”. It sounds quite dramatic but can clothing really have that much of an impact on our lives?

This remained on my mind for the duration of my journey and had me in deep thought about how a good wardrobe full of clothes can really affect our lives. Sat there, in my tracksuit bottoms and oversized hoodie, looking and feeling like a slob. I came to the realisation that what you wear really does have a huge impact on your overall attitude. That day, I wanted to hide from everybody because I knew I didn’t look glamorous. Usually the train is the place I do most of my work, but that day I had no motivation to do anything, lazy clothing made me also lazy.

Think back to times when you’ve gotten ready for a night out, showcasing your fabulous new dress and amazing killer heels. Your whole mood is impacted, if you feel good about yourself you feel positive about life. Nice new clothing can change your mindset, when in a positive mood you can accomplish almost anything.

A change in the wardrobe can do wonders; giving you the confidence to do things you’d never usually do, and ten times better at that. Power dressing for an important event such as an interview is actually essential. Your appearance can have a very positive impact on how you come across to others and if you are dressed professionally you are more likely to be taken seriously. Not only that, but the better you feel in yourself the more confidence you are going to display.

Power dressing is the key to confidence. Look good, feel good.
