The Westbury Hotel is known for its central location in London and its prestigious premium standard accommodation. Located just off one of our favourite shopping destinations, Bond Street, the glamorous hotel tells the story of superior British hospitality and has a star studded clientele list. This week, The Westbury was the place to be, thanks to a budding press day held by Fearnhurst, ML and Iroquios PR.
A year ago, I was lucky enough to spend the night in The Westbury as a birthday treat, so when I heard this was to be the location for my two favourite things, fashion and beauty all under one roof, I jumped at the chance to attend. The Mayfair and Times rooms played host for two days, showcasing leading designer brands such as Fiorelli, Nica, Sea Salt and Ruby Rocks, who presented their SS14 collections. Mannequins modelled the most gorgeous lingerie pieces, sweet tea party frocks, and nautical designs. Not to mention the array of accessories on offer. One of my favourites was the Harper bag by Fiorelli, and this cobalt blue and grey colour block oversized bag made its way straight to my Christmas wish list.
The press day was a welcoming escape from the hustle and bustle of London, and the PR girls on hand were as friendly, chatty and knowledgeable of the brands as the standards set by The Westbury. It was a pleasure to see how these brands warmed and excited everyone on the cold autumn day, and it was reassuring to know such high-end brands are being taken care of by such lovely PR companies.
There is no way I could write this post without mentioning the foodie treats on offer too. Mushroom ravioli, cold anti-pasti meats, sushi and sashimi, and petit fours made everyone’s eyes light up and stomachs rumble. It was definitely a press day for food bloggers as well and fashion and beauty bloggers.
And of course, no press day is complete without having some beauty offers on hand. Couture hair stylist Missato was there to give visitors and press a billowing blow dry of curls and Beauticians Glossin’ Nails treated guests with a manicure to remember. And that was definitely achieved as every time I look down at my hands now, I’m reminded of what a successful press day this was.
