Autumn is here, where has this year gone? Before we know it we will be doing our Christmas shopping and making New Year’s plans. So the best of our British summer may have disappeared right before our eyes, however for me this is my favourite time of year for fashion. It’s now time to get out those fur coats and those fluffy hats and use your local high street as your very own catwalk for your autumn and winter fashion statements.

To start of your autumn/winter look I think we all need a few smart shirts in our wardrobes, polka dot and stripes are always prints that are in. Buttoned up to the top with a simple collar clip is a real favoured look for me. With a pair of smart cigarette trousers and a smart pair of shoes, you’ll be dressed to impress with a smart and casual look all in one.

Now I am very against real fur being used for fashion benefits, so that is why I am all for the faux fur coats, hats, scarves and many other accessories. My particular favourite item is my faux Dalmatian fur and leather coat, as well as my huge faux fur coat for those super chilly nights out on the town. There’s no better feeling than looking at others freezing their limbs off while you’re tucked up cosy in your winter threads. As much as I love the faux fur look, it’s important not to go overboard with the look. For example it’s a bit of a nono to be wearing it top to toe. Be sure to only add elements of it to your look. So maybe if you’re wearing a leather jacket, why not add a great fur hat or headband? Or even a simple fur scarf can really complete the look. Leather gloves are one of my favourite accessories; they’re so timeless and classy as well as going beautifully with fur.  If you’re not a fan of the leather or the fur, why not try going back to basics with the classic parka, an item that will never go out of fashion in my opinion.

Another thing I love about this time of year is that I can get out the warm boots again. Whether they’re a heeled platform boot or a flat lace up, both will go great with a pair of ripped jeans. A pair of warm tights is also always close to a girls heart too when it comes to this brisk weather, either with a pair of mom shorts or a nice winter dress. An outfit is not complete without a killer bag to hold all your essentials, either a cute satchel or an oversized tote bag is the look we are seeing a lot of celebs with this season.
