When it comes to the colder months, we can’t resist the welcoming return of our cosy, chunky knitwear. You may be a summer gal through and through, but the thought of snuggling up in a cream fisherman knit on a Autumn Sunday afternoon in your favourite pub, eating a roast, is certainly a tempting one.

It seems I’m not the only one. I feel as though each autumn and winter, the selection and variety of knitwear on the high-street increases three-fold. From beautifully soft cashmere V-necks to chunky cable knits in a variety of autumnal hues, it can be difficult to know which to add to your wardrobe. Although I don’t think I particularly suit V-neck styles, a slightly over-sized grey V-neck jumper teamed with skinny jeans and dainty gold jewellery works perfectly for an effortless Saturday brunch with girlfriends. While a chunky cream knit – or mustard, another popular colour for this season – is ideal for a long and chilly weekend dog walk.

While my knitwear drawer continues to overflow, I always find myself looking for new pieces to add each season. You could say I’m a little bit of a knitwear fiend, but if you take good care of them – a cool wash cycle and de-bobbler both work wonders – then they will see you through many a cold season!
