Beauty. Confidence. Compassion. Love. Nurture. Courage. Strength. Emotion. Kindness. Generosity. Strength. Power. Goddess. I am all woman!

That is the message that the All Woman Project is sending out into the universe, in the hope of creating a movement amongst women that will challenge the stereotypes and break the boundaries within the world of fashion and the media once and for all.

Despite the call for our models to look more like the average woman being heard for some time now, the industry still lacks real diversity.  Race, body type, and age are still unfairly represented in major campaigns and branding, and there are two models who think enough is enough.

The brain child of Clémentine Desseaux and Charli Howard, the All Woman Project is using its voice to shout a little louder. And the powerful cry that can be heard is one of body positivity. At the root of the All Woman Project is the celebration of our ‘flaws’ and accepting our bodies for what they are – beautiful and unique to us.

Charli and Clémentine, together with friends and likeminded campaigners, launched their first fashion film only a few months ago and have since earned much attention from heavy weights InStyle, Elle, Vogue and Cosmopolitan to name just a few. It’s fair to say that the film managed to recruit some very familiar faces to deliver the very important message. The empowering campaign shot by models and photographers Heather Hazzan and Lily Cummings includes plus-size models Iskra Lawrence, Denise Bidot, and Barbie Ferreira, androgynous model Elliot Sailors, activist Shivani Persad, musician Leaf, rapper Victoria Brito, and former Miss Teen USA.

Since the launch, the All Woman Project have been sharing photos on social media and encouraging women to share their own photos, stories and messages along with the hashtag #iamallwoman and its notion that is being embraced worldwide by those that share the idea that our body shape shouldn’t define our femininity or our ability as a woman! The campaign’s Instagram feed delivers a healthy dose of reality which reflects women from all walks of life. It is creating a shape for sisterhood, encouragement and acceptance that is lacking in the social sphere. Colour, size, sexuality and age are just mere labels, they are not who we are and to see so many women coming together to stand up for not only themselves, but their sisters too, is truly something worth shouting about!
