After a fantastic launch party at The Club at The Ivy on Monday evening, ‘The Semple Collection’ – a limited edition range of dresses and co-ords – is now available to buy. And as with any Semple idea their is always a story behind the project, so here’s a little insight into how this beautiful collection of coordinates came about.
Earlier this year we acquired a selection of decorative end papers from the Olga Hirsch collection within the British Library archives. With such unique designs in our possession we knew that we had to do something extra special to showcase the beautiful patterns, so set about finding just the right project.
Showcasing our range at Monday’s launch party
Having admired the work of emerging British fashion designer Laura Ralph, and her stunning vintage two pieces for quite sometime, we thought what better way to showcase the prints than by collaborating with Laura to create The Semple Collection.
After digitising our three chosen prints we sought the expertise of the prestigious Glasgow School of Art to turn our prints into fabrics. Once in the hands of Laura our three unique prints – The Rosalind, The Olivia and The Helena – were then transformed into an exclusive range of dresses, coordinates and matching hair scrunchies.
