With summer on its way, all this week blogger Thankfifi (Wendy H Gilmour) is going to show us how to dress for the sunshine and ease us out of the cold dreary weather.

As wedding season approaches Wendy achieves the perfect outfit for any occasion. Wendy has chosen this beautiful forrest green midi skirt – below the knee is a huge fashion trend this season and to finish this look a simple striped top and gladiator sandals, creating a fun way of dressing up.

What do you do when you’re not blogging?

If I’m not blogging I’ll be found dog walking (or running – I like to multitask!) or eating macaroons or travelling or working (I also work part time in PR/Marketing for a wonderful Scottish textiles company, Bluebellgray).

What interests you?

Everything. Fashion obviously, good food, art, exploring (the world and at home – the dog walking comes in here again), Instagram, interiors and dogs – it’s no secret I’m a huge dog nerd.

What is your motivation everyday?

To be better. I honestly just want to get through everything I have set out to do – I don’t really think about motivation to be honest – I just do…

Do you have a treasured garment?

I recently got the most gorgeous silk mix, super full, emerald green midi skirt. I wore it to a wedding and just loved it so that’s pretty precious to me right now. Although if it’s conceivable that I could treasure denim and stripes then I most certainly do.

What is your best style advice?

Dress like you wish you could. Don’t get too caught up in worrying about what might be appropriate for the event – I’ve learnt over the last few years that wearing something I really love is much more important than ‘fitting in’.

 Who is your style inspiration?

Taylor Tomasi Hill has the most incredible eye for mixing pieces together in new ways and Jenna Lyons knows a thing or two about denim and layers. But it’d be rude to choose just two… Pinterest holds a whole world of inspiration!

Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

Somewhere with better weather maybe?  I try not to think about where I’ll be in the future – 3 years ago I could never have imagined I would be here I am right now and I like how this is working out so far!

What is your biggest highlight of your career to date?

Honestly, aside from the really amazing brands I have been lucky enough to work with, the first time I saw myself on Vogue.co.uk I just about exploded with excitement. It was my first time at London Fashion Week and the blog was still very young so that affirmation from such an amazing title meant I finally had a little thought that maybe I was doing something right.

Which trends will make a return next season?

Flares are happily on the up and I think cranberry coloured everything will be back soon…

What would you like to be remembered for?

I’d love to say my amazing style but I have to accept that I basically live in the shadow of my dog so, if there’s anything anyone would remember, it would most likely be him.
