All the way from the other side of the pond in New York City, Lisa who runs the blog ‘Mind Body Swag’ graces us with a week of effortlessly chic style. Combining a pair of comfy baggy jeans with a linen striped tank top is a match made in heaven. Details such as tucking her top into her jeans and the slight sheer of the top keep the look feminine. Bright red heels and a mini Chanel are just the right accessories to transform the outfit into a delicate and elegant ensemble.

Meet Mind Body Swag…

What do you do when your not blogging?

I am a full-time model represented by Elite Models.  I specifically work as a fit model for designers in NYC.  When I am not working or blogging I enjoy shopping (of course!), being active, reading a great book, or spending time with my dog and husband.

What interests you?

I love fashion.  It’s a true passion of mine.  I am also interested in living a healthy, active lifestyle. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures.  It’s fascinating to see how others live in different parts of the world. I have always been really business savvy and am obsessed with personal finance.  I also love to dance. I can dance pretty much anywhere as long as there is great music!

What is your motivation everyday?

I am highly motivated and ambitious.  I am motivated to be successful because I believe in what I am doing and I love creating something that can inspire others.

Do you have a treasured garment?

I am obsessed with leather so I would say I treasure all my leather pieces because I know they will be in my wardrobe for years to come.

What is your best style advice?

Wear the clothes, don’t let the clothes wear you.  I always say less is more and wear what makes you feel most comfortable in your own skin.  Style should be effortless and fun.  Your personal style should reflect who you are.

Who is your style inspiration?

I love Carine Roitfeld for that Parisian chic vibe.  I also think Olivia Palermo and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley always get it right style wise.

Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

I see myself running an empire, be it clothing collaborations or my own line, media work, book deals and getting paid to travel. I see myself as a fashion correspondent at various red carpet events.  I also see myself having children and enjoying life.

What is your biggest highlight in your career to date?

I would say the biggest highlight so far has been being featured on WWD and WhoWhatWear.com.  Another highlight has been inspiring others and enriching my life in ways that I never thought a fashion blog would.  I was included in both list of Stylecaster’s 50 Fashion Blogs You have Discovered Yet (http://stylecaster.com/best-fashion-blogs-you-have-not-discovered-yet/) and Elle Spain 30 Fashion Blogs that You Haven’t Discovered. (http://www.elle.es/moda/tendencias/blogs-de-moda-que-no-conoces)

Which trends will make a return next season?

For Spring the return of monochromatic all white looks were all over the runways. For Fall 2014 fringe is the hottest trend.

What would you like to be remembered for?

I would like to be remembered for being an inspiration, especially to women. I have always had insatiable desire to empower people and lift them up to have the confidence and courage to live the life that they were meant to live. I would want to be remembered as being a polite, caring, loving person who went after her dreams no matter how difficult the journey.
