For the next five days, MSL will showcase the style of lifestyle photographer, Berta Bernad, and if her Monday ‘look’ is anything to go by, it’s going to be a week full of style inspiration. Berta’s tailored grey trousers flaunt her slimline figure, which she pairs with a loose fitting lighter grey t-shirt. She adds impact to her outfit through the use of the colour black, seen in her jacket and heeled brogues. The knock-out item is her zebra print handbag which complements her entire ‘look’ and MSL are enviously in love with her long wavy hair.

bretaWhat do you do?

I am a lifestyle photographer based in London. I used to work in the headquarters of Ralph Lauren and now I am fully dedicated to my blog (bertabernad.com)

What are your interests?

I am interested in things which are made with good taste, projects with perspective and I admire the quality and thought that goes into design and fashion from the original thought right the way through to production.

What motivates you every day?

Waking up in the morning and being free to either play piano, or go shopping or go out and take some pictures. Do my agenda, call my friends and have time to dedicate to them. These things you appreciate when you ‘get older’ (god!) I am very passionate so I am highly motivated for everything I do in my day.

Do you have a treasured garment, an item that you cannot part with?

Yes, I guess my huge bags and my flat shoes. My outfits always depend on that really! I am always carrying huge cameras with me, diaries, note books and books. And I am always riding a bike, so my style really needs to adapt to my needs!

What style advice would you give?

“Never go out from home, thinking whatever you’re dressing is not typical yours” you know sometimes when you try to follow fashion, you ruin it! So… be comfortable with whatever you wear.

Whose wardrobe would you like to steal for a day?

Haha! Man Repeller, Caroline de Maigret, Lisa Tildman, Ana Kras. That’s it.

Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

Doing videos for fashion brands, traveling and taking pictures all over the world, writing a novel, painting like crazy! Dancing with my boyfriend and teaching my kids what life is about!

What’s your biggest achievement to date?

Being selected by Scott Schuman as Global taste maker and also to be chosen as the Spanish Ambassador for J crew, I guess. Personally, I am so proud of how the blog has evolved.

Which trend do you see making a return for 2014?

Anything which is eco-healthy. Trends that connect with nature, the essence of things.

What would you like to be remembered for?

A good wife& mother, friend of my friends, and someone who enjoyed her life as much as she could. Gracias!
