Boho has been trying to win back favour in fashion circles for a couple of seasons now. It has wafted around the side-lines and even floated down a catwalk or two but we are not as carefree as we were before, back in those pre-recession days. How can whimsical boho find its feet in our not so carefree times? There is one fashion lady who can lead the charge for boho and this is her season once again; Sienna Miller, Queen of Boho, is back!

Back in the not all that distant past of 2005, you couldn’t open a paper or magazine (you, know – those flimsy things we had before iPads and tablets) without finding a picture of Sienna Miller drifting around London being frenemies with the Primrose Hill set. With her long, tousled hair, flowing skirts and carefree attitude she was the epitome of boho style and quickly became a reference point for fashion conscious girls desperate to emulate her style. The press interest in her seemed never ending following her through a messy end with her then on-off boyfriend Jude Law and an affair with a married man. Despite starring in films like Factory Girl and The Edge of Love, her film career faltered and Sienna ducked out of the paparazzi glare and disappeared from the limelight, taking her bohemian style with her.

Time out of the spotlight certainly seems to have done Sienna good and after seasons of buttoned up fashion, the return of Boho couldn’t have been more timely. Sienna herself is less carefree now with a daughter and the relaunch of her film career, that is seems unsurprising that this change is reflected in her own personal style on the press tour of the biographical war drama, American Sniper, in which she stars alongside Bradley Cooper. The bohemian attitude is still evident in her choices but there is a more measured, grown up take on her wardrobe. Taking full advantage of the seventies fashions that are creeping in, Sienna has reworked boho for 2015; less floaty – more loose tailoring, less I-just-threw-this-on – more luxurious fabrics.

Sienna is walking proof that you can stick to your own personal style whilst still ticking the fashion boxes. We may no longer be scouring the papers for fashion inspiration but we will be poised on Pinterest waiting for her next fashion move; welcome back to your throne Queen of Boho.
