I’m not afraid to admit I’ve got a problem, and whilst some will say that said problem is having too many rings, my argument is always that I haven’t got enough fingers for them!

As a child I admired pirates, adorned in gold with a ring for every finger. Growing up my family has always worn jewellery, beyond wedding rings. And now my obsession with rings knows no bounds, always searching for something different but hardly ever finding something unique and quality.

In one of my recent searches I stumbled across NOVICA a company born in 1999 from the love of pairing local artisans to wanting customers. The company spans the globe searching for and curating artists from jewellery makers to painters.

Their association with The National Geographic sparked my interest as too often the fruits of the world are exploited for profit but as I read further about NOVICA it became clear that their mission was as attractive as their products, and their company founded on respect for creators and their produce.

As I always do I headed straight for their rings – 27 pages of pure metallic heaven. Hallelujah! From dainty and ornate, to heavy stone set pieces I had found my playground, frantically adding bookmarks to my ‘Wish List’ folder in my browser.

Each and every item is celebrated on NOVICA alongside the artist’s profile – getting to know their story and understanding their passion is a priceless addition that stands out. I had finally found something different and new!

Learning the story behind a product gives it so much more value and is one of the reasons we are so drawn to vintage pieces. Rushing to buy denim Levi jackets that have seen countless gigs before our time, and preferring Converse to look a little worn rather than box fresh; they tell a story unto themselves, much like the pieces that are found on NOVICA.
