Mario Testino has often featured on this blog owing to his effortless ability to capture a woman at her finest moment and angle. The Peruvian photographer is one of Vogue’s most acclaimed members and his photos will forever resonate in the history of women and fashion. This time, it’s his newest collection on Instagram that has caught our attention. Capturing our favourite top models behind the scenes in white towels and robes, the Peruvian creative has playfully named it his “Towel Series”.

His list of towelled stars include Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel, Kate Upton, Emily DiDonato, and Kate Moss to name a few. Some sporting a natural look and others with a face of flawless make up, the collection provides an intimate and candid glimpse of what it’s like to be a model the other side of the curtain. It also shows us the magnetic energy these girls have in front of the camera.

The collection was inspired by the unforgettably famous image of Elizabeth Taylor, who posed in her robes and beguiling diamonds. The photo of Elizabeth taken by Herb Ritts in 1992 was shot to promote Taylor’s signature White Diamonds fragrance, suggesting that a fragrance is a unique and a the essence of a woman’s identity. There’s no denying that this photo became one of her most famous, and it’s great to see Mario’s collection stem from anther incredible photographer.

So next time you walk out the shower and look in the mirror, embrace your natural look and work it, because you could be Testino’s next subject.
