Manolo Blahnik expands with the help of footwear friend, Kurt Geiger
It is a given that you cannot leave the house without a pair of shoes and for this reason, they are one of a woman’s life long companions. Besides their practical use, the purpose of a great pair of shoes is to make you feel amazing and to turn an old pair of trousers into an outfit that radiates elegance. This autumn, if there is one thing you do to your shoe closet, make sure that is to clear room for a pair of heels from the gorgeous new range by world renowned, footwear designer Manolo Blahnik.
In 1973, Manolo Blahnik opened his first store in Old Church Street, Chelsea; an area which has maintained its status as a prestigious, wealthy and fashionable area of London. Despite his breaking success in America, Manolo has kept his main focus on his shoe store in Chelsea; that is until now…
Working with Kurt Geiger, Manolo has opened boutiques inside the iconic walls of two of Britain’s best department stores. Harrods and Liberty are now graced with Blahnik’s signature stilettos, which changed the way women viewed and treated their feet.
The boutique in London features a range of styles picked by the shoe extraordinaires, including designs inspired by the paintings of Juan de Valdes. And if that isn’t enough, you can go all out and treat yourself with a bespoke service, whereby you can have your shoes hand made to fit and chose the colours, materials and finish to find your perfect shoe.
Harrods Chief Merchant Marigay McKee has expressed the department’s excitement, which we can definitely echo: “We are thrilled to welcome Manolo Blahnik to Harrods. Creations from this legendary shoemaker have redefined the role of the shoe in fashion and are coveted throughout the world by fashionistas. The new boutique will be a spectacular addition to our unrivalled shoe portfolio.”
So if your outfit is in need of that perfect finishing touch, or you’ve decided your feet deserve a treat after running around the busy streets for London Fashion Week, be sure to visit the boutique and indulge yourself in Manolo’s celestial home of heels.
