Yesterday morning, still half asleep, I realigned my mirror with one hand and reached for my black Sephora make-up bag with the other. Make-up bag balancing on my legs I rummaged between the frays and broken zip to find the contents of old mascaras that I had unknowingly collected alongside numerous broken pencil sharpeners. Never used lip Liners falling out through the holes on one side and eye liners lost at the bottom, my make-up bag was actually in a worse state than the unused products it was home to.

I needed a new make-up bag! It has been so long since I specifically shopped for such a thing that I never realised just how insanely pretty, imaginative and useful they have become. Here are some of the best make-up bags that I found on my quest.

mermaid

Mermaid Sequin Make-up Bag, Jaded London, £28

Because who doesn’t want a mermaid sequin make-up bag? Something this sparkly would be great as a gift for a friend or just as a treat for yourself and your must-have make-up essentials.

eyeko make-up bag

Make-up bags, Eyeko, £20 each

I think I want all 3! I can see (no pun intended) why the range is favoured by the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Clara Paget. So simple, but yet probably the strongest contenders in the world of make-up bags today. Well played, Eyeko, well played.

topshop make-up bag

Metallic Foil Make-up Bag, Topshop, £10

Topshop have definitely made me want to make my make-up bag my summer going out out bag. This metallic foil bag is great for those that keep it light. Not too big and not to small, this is a great size for the necessities and it’s nice to look at, too. Win, win.

asos make-up bag

Oversized Metallic Camo Make-up Bag, ASOS, £15

This oversized ASOS make-up bag is suitable for all of those hoarders, or make-up lovers that potentially have more products than the rest. It’s colourful, far from boring and the camo style means that the traces of make-up, that seem to destroy all of our bags, will be hidden by the design.
