I have probably gone through more mascaras than I have any other cosmetic product in my make-up bag and I find myself constantly on the hunt for the ‘dream’ mascara that promises longer, thicker and curlier lashes: you name it, I’ve tried it. I’ve had the unpleasant experience of clumpy mascaras, not doing what they say on the tin mascaras, and even accidentally buying the wrong colour mascaras!

Finding the right brand with the right effects is not an easy task. If you are bored of your current mascara and fancy something different, or still haven’t found the mascara that’s right for you, here are four tried and tested products that do as they promise.

YSL

Yves Saint Laurent Luxurious Mascara | £25

If you want the effects of false lashes without all the nitty gritty then opt for Yves Saint Laurent’s Luxurious False Lash Effect mascara. Not only will it look lovely in your cosmetic bag, but it will give you long and lasting lashes. You’ll be amazed by the before and after effects of this mascara.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash | £19

The fuller and thicker brush that comes with this mascara is the magic behind the results, creating impressive volume and curl. Not only does it give your lashes an extreme make-over, but it’s also non-clumping as well as flake and smudge-proof. It really is an all round winner!

Benefit

Benefit They’re Real Mascara | £19.50

Probably one of the best reviewed and most notable mascaras in the world of cosmetics, the results of this Benefit best seller speak for themselves. They’re Real mascara does a bit of everything from lengthening, curling, volumising, lifting and separating and the jet black colour means that your lashes will stand out even more.

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara | £4.99

If you want fab results but don’t want to spend a small fortune, then look no further than this classic. The shape and groove of the brush stops lashes from clumping together and Maybelline’s innovative formula will give you fuller and thicker lashes. It may be an oldie but there is no doubting that it’s definitely still a goodie.
