Experiencing failure in our lives can be self-destroying. As humans we aim to succeed in everything that we do so if failure occurs we it can often be a bitter pill to swallow; accepting that we haven’t succeeded in something, especially if we worked exceptionally hard for it.

We’re often very hard on ourselves when experiencing a form of failure, we start to believe that we aren’t good enough or that we are never going to be able to accomplish our ultimate dream. Being harsh on yourself is a good trait if it fuels you to work even harder next time, but never put yourself down if failure arises. It can be easy at times to give up and feel as though you’re not good enough but don’t lose faith in yourself.quote

We must remember that not everybody can excel in everything that they do. Not every interview you have will lead to a job and putting hard work into something doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be successful. Much to our annoyance, we simply cannot be brilliant at everything. It can be disheartening putting so much effort into something to be disappointed by the outcome, but take it as a form of self improvement.

Pressure can often get the better of us. In this day and age young adults are under a lot of strain to succeed and sometimes it can seem like there is no other option than to give up. However, what we need to understand is that success isn’t necessarily exceeding expectation in your exams or completing a degree, success comes in so many different shapes and sizes you just need to find it within yourself. We have a tendency to compare ourselves to others which can lead to negative energy and jealousy as we forget that we’re all individuals, skilled in different areas. No matter how big or small your dream is, you are the only person who can ensure that you achieve that dream. Every person has endured the pain of failure in many aspects of their lives but ultimately it is how successful people cope with these failures that sets them apart from the rest.

Don’t let failure make you give up on your dream, turn a negative into a positive and try again. Failure is an option, it just isn’t the end of the world.
