PJs are having a moment. Blame it on the “normcore” or “cosy girl” trend but whatever the reason, PJs are big fashion news. And what better time to embrace all things snuggly then at Christmas time.

In the past pyjamas have been overlooked as functional items, only suitable for sleeping in or, on occasion, lazy Sundays. But suddenly loungewear has made it big and we all want to get comfortable. The comfortable two piece is the queen of all loungewear and as nights get longer and the weather gets colder, it’s little surprise that designers have even been pushing the “posh pyjama” out of bed and on to the catwalk and beyond! So if you are getting cosy this Christmas which PJs style will you be working on the sofa?

Cosy Girl

The cosy girl is probably feeling quite smug right now, since she has been rocking the PJs since before it was cool. Anything that is cute, soft and fun is the loungewear of choice. She is most likely to go for cartoon prints, cute characters or sologans. It’s likely that her nightwear draw is bigger than the rest of her wardrobe.

Girlie Girl

Yes you want to be cosy but you don’t want to give up on fashion. The girlie girl will choose, sumptuous silks and only the best cotton. Most likely to go for prints that look like they have come straight of the catwalk.

 Retro PJs

Old school, long trousers and button shirt pyjamas are having a resurgence so go retro and invest in some classics for this Christmas.

Shorties

Shorts and vest are the cutest of all the pyjamas. Not particularly warm at this time of year though so accessorise with big socks and a warm blanket.

Something Borrowed

If you don’t see the sense in buying pyjamas just upcycle an old t-shirt or borrow from your significant other.  If it’s oversized and warm then its good enough for sleeping in.
