Since 1983, Vanity Fair has been one of the leading and most influential magazines, feeding our fashion, politics and pop culture cravings. The magazines annual best dressed list comes highly anticipated, as we wait to see which women in the spotlight make the cut, and above all, who gets the leading title as best dressed. Running since 1940, this list is one to take seriously.

This year, Vanity Fair searched the high and lows of the hemispheres and in every corner of every country to find who they thought, had a style that deserved a special mention. Far over in the middle East, lives Sheikha Mozah, second of the 3 wives to the Emir of the state of Qatar. Her gracious style and elegant poise didn’t go unnoticed by Vanity Fair, as she joined Britain’s sweethearts Kate Middleton and Stella McCartney on the list of impeccable styles.

For every outfit she steps out in, she has a turban to match, and it is that combination that turns the heads of all passers by and makes the camera flash.SheikhaMozah3

Her style has been to the awe of many admirers. Fashion designer Julien Macdonald has declared her one of his top style icons. “[She is] glamorous and sophisticated, the very epitome of a royal…I would love to dress her. Her personal style is rich with power and confidence, yet retains a real femininity that many women aspire to” said the designer.

In honor of Sheikha Mozah’s satorial eye, we at Maggie Semple have compiled some of our favourite looks, that reason to us, why she made the prestigious best dressed list.
